How to Teach Computer Mouse

 Yesterday, my 74 years old father has started his first time journey of learning computer from me. I have started to teach him computer basic and my first lesson for him to teach him how to use computer mouse. So, I am sharing you my experience and with this, you will also teach to anybody whether kid, young or old about how to use computer mouse.

1. Teach Them Basic of Computer mouse

Without understanding what is this? He can not go how to use it? I told him, it is a electronic device made by scientist for giving the input to computer. Means, if I am saying to you, it means I am giving your brain direction. Like this, we have to give direction to computer, so, we have to use this device.

2. Teach Them benefits of Computer mouse 

I told him with this, we can choose and select anything on the computer. You can see the point on the screen and it is controlled by this mouse. 

3. Teach Them How Mouse Works

I told him that it has two side motion power through its electrical designing

4. Teach the Simple Steps of Using Mouse

(A) Change the Direction of pointer on the screen with mouse

See, the mouse and see on the screen 

1. When I soft pick the mouse and small move my hand right side, my computer screen pointer will go right side. 
2. When I soft pick the mouse and small move my hand left side, my computer screen pointer will go left side. 
3. When I soft pick the mouse and small move my hand up side, my computer screen pointer will go up  side. 
4. When I soft pick the mouse and small move my hand down  side, my computer screen pointer will go down side. 

Now, I did practical

Now, allow student to do practice of this step. Sometime, student may touch the button on it and unable to move the mouse left right and up and down. So, say, not to touch button 

 (B) Use the Wheel on the Mouse - Scrolling

Open the written word file and teach him that this wheel can rotate up and down.

1.  If I will down to read more text, I have to rotate the wheel of mouse down. 
2. If I go to up for reading the text, I will rotate the mouse wheel up with my hand.

(C) Teach Better Holding of Computer Mouse 

Your palm must on the base of mouse. Your thumb must be right side of mouse Keep your two finger on the mouse but not press the two button.

(D) Teaching Clicking Button on Mouse 

Now, in this class, you have to teach left clicking.

 It is used to 

1. open button on new browser 
2. open the link
3. select the text. 

Teaching Right Clicking

Now, in this class, you have to teach right clicking.

 It is used to 

1. open menu bar
2. open the link
3. select the text. 

just right corner and drag rightside your mouse by pressing left button of mouse. 

Teaching Double Clicking 

Some function done with double clicking

By clicking double on the text. 

(E) Dragging and Dropping

If you want to teach how to dragging and dropping with mouse. Just press on the button on home page of computer and pick and keep it on different side. Taking the button is called dragging and keeping on different side is called dropping. 

Text Selection 

By clicking double on the text.
