My Story of Teaching in SOS Children's Village as Tutor

 

Today (1st Nov. 2021), 20 years ago, I (Vinod Kumar ) taught Maths and English and Commerce 10+1 and 10+2 3 years and 4 months in SOS Children Village Rajpura as tutor. First of All, I am thankful to Dr. Mathura Das who helped me for getting this job. I am also thankful to Mr Leo George who gave me opportunity to serve as teacher. I also heartly thankful to all its team and SOS Team for support me to work. Now, I am sharing my story

1. Dr. Mathura Das Gave Me Big Support for Finding This Teacher Job

In 2001, I just completed my B.Com and wanted job for work and grow. At that time, I met Dr. Mathura Das through Vidyarathi Kalyan Parishad. That time, I was supporting this institute. I told him, I need the job to grow and earn. He told me that there is a vacancy of tutor in SOS Rajpura is vacant, He carried me there and helped me to get this job.

I was happy and on on 1st Nov. 2001, I became tutor in Youth House in SOS Rajpura.

2. Meet with Mr Leo George Ji

He is very nice personality and confident person. During his job as youth house in-charge, he gave me all support to students there. Discipline was his main priority.

3. Opportunity to Learn the Story of SOS Student's Personal Life 

To teach the students of SOS was my biggest challenge. First of all, I had to learn personal story of each student. I am thankful to God, who gave me this profession and helped me to understand the psychology of each student and did best to give them love and encourage to go in their mission. 

4. I Learned

1. Sometime, situations are not normal but if we give the water to the plant in stone area, it has ability to become biggest trees.

2. Self-character can inspire students. Characterless teacher makes characterless students. As teacher, everyone must be strong with character of honesty, hard-work and love.

3. If we will live a simple life, we can enjoy teaching.

4. All my successful students has also given me opportunity to learn their success story. Some of them, still connected through social media.

5. I found 2 Teacher Friends 

There, I found two teachers members who became my friends. I learned their story. One is Vivek Sir who taught SOS MATHs  and Second is Amandeep Sir who taught science to SOS Students.
