On 16th jan. 2003, NASA's spacecraft has started his travel for space. In this spacecraft, there are 7 people in it. All these astronauts had done lots of experiments in space. On 1st feb. 2003, they started to journey to return to earth. All astronauts were very happy. Everything was working with plan. As it enters in the atmosphere of earth, its connection had disconnected with NASA. NASA told after few times, Columbia spacecraft had blasted before reaching the earth. In this spacecraft, our Indian astronaut Kalpana Chawla was included this team. No one can imagine that this spacecraft will reach this accident

Steps of How do Astronauts to Go to Space from Earth
Did you enjoy the Dewali by flying the rocket. You know also that only rocket is the vehicle which helps to reach in the space. The second important vehicle is the spacecraft. If the spacecraft is made for reaching to space, then why do we make the rocket. Both are important both are used for reaching space. Rocket is connected to the spacecraft for reaching to space. Rocket helps the spacecraft to reach spacecraft.
First of all understand how rocket works. As per Newton's 3rd law of motion told that every action there is equal opposite reaction. For example, when we throw the football on the earth, it starts throw to sky automatically. As we throw the football on the earth, same speed, it throw up automatically reaction. Rocket works this third law of motion. In the rocket, there is fuel used to fire. Fire produces very warm gasses. Its flow downward on the earth and gasses react with the air of earth and push it to space . Rocket is the engine, it helps to reach its payload. In payload, there may be satellite , scientific equipment and astronauts. Spacecraft uses the atmosphere's oxygen but rocket has its own oxygen for drive it. In the rocket, it has also added the extra rocket which supports main rocket to reach in the space. This extra rocket separate from main rocket after closing its fuel balance. Next journey is completed by main rocket.
Spacecraft is just like an airplane. It has all equipment for eating, sleeping and living and searching lab in it. After reaching space, the rocket has been disconnected by spacecraft. Now, in the space, spacecraft is driven like a pilot drive an airplane.

Remember, they never come back to earth with same rocket. There is not any rocket during returning to earth with spacecraft. Spacecraft is returning with a speed of 17520 mile/ hr. Now, first, after entry in the earth, it starts rotating around the earth for decreasing its speed. When it enters in the atmosphere of the earth, it has to struggle with hot and speedy air. With its reaction, spacecraft may burn. From saving this, the aircraft has covered with heat-resistant cloth. After reaching near to earth, it start to fly like an airplane and then it starts the process of landing. Its landing is same as the landing of an airplane on the airplane road. But its speed is very high, so, parachute helps to decrease its speed and safe landing.
